TH1S IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me JACOB MOSES REESE of 23 Ascham Road Boumemouth in the county of Hants Cap Manufacturer I appoint my son Bernard Reese and my son in law Lionel Stephany EXECUTORS and TRUSTEES of this my Will I direct my Executors to pay all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the legacies bequeathed by this my Will as soon as conveniently may be after my decease I give and bequeath the following legacies namely To my daughter Esther Reese Five hundred pounds £4 per cent tax free War Loan Bonds To my son Cecil Reese Five hundred pounds £4 per cent tax free War Loan Bonds and to my son Harold Reese Five hundred pounds £4 tax free War Loan Bonds To my granddaughter Evelyn Stephany the sum of three hundred pounds To my brother in law Morris Hyman the sum of fifty pounds To my father in law Jacob Hyman the sum of twenty five pounds and to my mother in law Esther Hyman the sum of twenty five pounds and to Mrs Annie Lazarus lately my housekeeper the sum of twenty five pounds I give and bequeath the following charitable legacies namely To the Jewish Board of Guardians the sum of twenty five pounds To the Great Garden Street Whitechapel Talmud Torah the sum of twenty five pounds and To the Jewish Kosher Kitchen of the German Hospital Dalston N E the sum of twenty five pounds I bequeath all my household furniture plate plated articles linen china glass musical instruments books (except books of account) pictures prints and all other articles of personal domestic or household use or ornament unto my Trustees In trust to permit my dear wife Matilda Reese to have the use and enjoyment thereof during the widowhood And I declare that from and after the death or remarriage of my said wife whichever event shall first happen the said household furniture plate plated articles linen china glass musical instruments books pictures prints and other effects shall full into and form part of my residual estate 1 bequeath all my leasehold property of all to which I shall be possessed or entitled at the time of my death unto my Trustees In trust to pay the net income arising therefrom unto my said wife during the widowhood and from and after her death or remarriage whichever event shall first happen my said leasehold property shall full into and form part of my residuary estate I give and bequeath 1000 of my shares of and in Reese & Bonn Limited unto my Trustees In trust to pay the net dividends and income arising therefrom unto my said wife during her widowhood and from and after her remarriage whichever event shall first happen the said 1000 shares of and in Reese & Bonn Limited shall fall into and form part of my residuary estate I give and bequeath 1000 of my shares of and in Reese & Bonn Limited to my son Bernard Reese absolutely To my son Joseph Reese 500 of such shares absolutely To my daughter Esther 500 of such shares To my son Cecil 500 of such shares to be transferred to him on his attaining the age of twenty one years To my son in law Lionel Stephany 300 of such shares absolutely To Samuel Leewarden provided he shall be in the employ of Reese & Bonn Limited and not under notice to leave at the time of my decease
100 of such shares absolutely And I declare that in case any of my children shall be under the age of twenty one years at the time of my decease my Trustees shall hold the share and interest of each such child under this my Will In trust to pay and apply the dividends and income to arise from each such share for the advancement preferment or benefit of each such child as my Trustees shall in their discretion think fit until such child shall attain the age of twenty one years And as to all the rest and residue of my real and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever of or to which I shall be possessed or entitled at the time of my decease and not hereby otherwise disposed of subject to and after payment of my funeral and testamentary expenses and debts and the legacies bequeathed by this my Will I give devise and bequeath the same unto and between my children Esther Cecil and Harold in equal shares Provided always and I declare that the legacy bequeathed to my said daughter Esther and the share of the residue of my estate under this my Will shall not vest absolutely in her but shall be retained by my Trustees and held by them Upon trust to pay the net income and annual produce of such share unto my said daughter during her life for her separate use without power of anticipation And after the death of such daughter shall hold share such share and the future income thereof Upon trust for all or more exclusively of the others or other of the two children or remoter issue of such daughter in such shares and in such manner in all respects as my said daughter shall by Will or Codicil appoint And in default of and subject to any such appointment In trust for all the children of my said daughter who being male shall attain the age of twenty one years or being female shall attain that age or marry and if more than one in equal shares Provided always and I declare that in case the trusts herein before declared concerning the share of my said daughter shall fail then subject to the trusts powers and provisions herein declared and contained concerning the same share and to every or any exercise of any such powers my Trustees shall hold such share and the income thereof in trust for my children Cecil and Harold in equal shares or if only one such child shall be Jiving then In trust or that child J desire that my said son Bernard Reese shall on my decease take my place and succeed me as a Director in the Company of Reese & Bonn Limited IN WITNESS thereof! have set my hand to this my Will contain on this and the two preceding sheets of Brief paper this October 11 day of 1917 One thousand nine hundred and seventeen- J M REESE- Signed by the Testator Jacob Moses Reese as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us both being present at the same time who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses- H JENKINSON 10 Malmesbury Park Road Boumemouth Fitter- M LEECH 23 Ashton Nurse-
On the21st day of February 1919 Probate of this Will was granted to Bernard Reese and Lionel Stephany the Executors
